When we bought the Oyster House at Newton Ferrers, it was a quirky little building in need of a lot of tender loving care, but with a location and views to die for! This is the story of it's transformation into something that we think will be rather special.

Tunnelling starts ...
The serious work at the Oyster House started today. Peter, the builder, has a cunning plan to get 90 cubic metres, or so, of soil and rock out of the building. The first step of this plan is to cut out the doorway that will link the study to the lower hallway in the new building. At the moment this looks a bit like the entrance to a mine and, basically, it is! The intention is to dig all the material out through this hole and to use a conveyor belt to get it out through the front window. Peter has found a tip that has opened up in Modbury that will take all the inert waste material from the site.
