The Oyster House is starting to look very different, now. The old tile hangings have been taken off the front elevation and have made a big visual improvement already (and the old battens that are still there give an impression of what the new shadow line cedar cladding will look like).
Ben and Alex were hard at work knocking down the old chimney stack when we were there earlier today. It is forecast to pour with rain all day tomorrow so they are going to clear out the chimney inside the building, then.
This week, the guys have just about finished the demolition of the old extension and they have managed to get rid of nearly all the old block work and rubble. In the middle of the old wall, you can see the new doorway that will link the study to the lower hallway. All the soil from the big dig that starts next week will be going out through this door on a conveyor belt. Watch this space!
