| The framework for the lantern roof goes in |
When we bought the Oyster House at Newton Ferrers, it was a quirky little building in need of a lot of tender loving care, but with a location and views to die for! This is the story of it's transformation into something that we think will be rather special.

The lid goes on (well, almost)
I went over to the Oyster House, yesterday, to discuss the plan we have developed for the lighting and power with Richard, the electrician. This went very well and he is going to start the first fix electrics on Monday. Since I was last there, there has been progress on several fronts (e.g. plumbing, stud walling, roof) but none of this lent itself to any interesting photos, so I did not take any! However, at the time, Peter was working hard on the sections that were to form the lantern roof and, by the end of the day, this photo had appeared in my inbox ..
This is a major milestone because it completes the last major phase of the timber construction work and it means we are now getting very close to having a watertight roof so we can start things like plaster boarding, inside.
