We're cracking on

There is a lot going on at the Oyster House at the moment.  The plumbers started work last week and they have installed the boiler flue and much of the pipe work for the heating and hot water systems.  This week, they have installed the under floor heating pipes in the ground floor new build area and today this floor was screeded.  I have never seen this done before and it was pretty impressive.  Two and a half tonnes of liquid screed was pumped in over about a fifteen minute period and, after a bit of sloshing around, we had a flat floor!  I was surprised how wet the whole thing was but, apparently, it sets as hard as concrete.

Meanwhile, Peter and the rest of the guys have been getting the outside of the new build ready for rendering and they have been constructing the roof sections for the lantern.  Diane and I have been working hard to finalise the plan for the lighting and power sockets.  The electrician will be starting his first fix as soon as the plumbers have finished theirs.

We have had one of the nicest days of the year, so far, in the South Hams.  A reminder, if one was needed, about why we are doing this project ...
