We have been doing a few odds and ends this week. Diane has stabilised the mortar on the end wall of the garage and that is now ready for painting. I have started removing the floor boards from the old bedrooms at the back. There is a lot of ropey old timber under the floors but I have not found any treasure hidden there yet.
We have been in discussion with the architect, the engineer and the builder about big "structural" things like large holes in the ground and roof beams for a little while now. This week, we have had a pleasant change from this and started to think about some design features that we will actually see inside the finished house. We had an afternoon in Exeter and met with In Toto kitchens and David Amos lighting. We are going back to see the kitchen people again next week and we are looking forward to seeing the design ideas they come up with. I am sure we will be exploring options with a few other companies before we make a final decision on the kitchen. David Amos had some interesting ideas on lighting but worried us a bit when he said we needed to start thinking about where the furniture was going to go!
