Today's good news story!

We have just about come to terms with the fact that we are going to spend large amounts of money on the Oyster House job but, today, I actually managed to make a few bob!  Steve, the plumber, gave me a contact who he said would come and collect all the scrap.  He turned up today and took away all the old radiators, loads of copper pipe and wiring and even the old cast iron bath  (Les, I let them carry it round and load it into the truck!).  I thought the scrap metal business required a lot of paper work these days to prevent crime but all I got was a decent sized wedge of dirty notes - not that I am complaining, of course.  If you should ever happen to find yourself in possession of a large amount of lead with a recent ecclesiastical connection, I think I now know a bloke in Plymouth who might be able to find a new home for it.
