Since I last posted, Peter has been on holiday and so have we, so it feels like things have been going a bit slowly at the Oyster House for a while although, actually, there has been some good progress on several fronts. Before we went away, we were very busy painting and (thankfully!) the whole of the first floor down to the bottom of the stairs has now been done.

All the under floor heating has now been installed and the oak flooring and skirting boards are now done upstairs, too. The kitchen fitters have installed most of the carcasses and the worktops for the new kitchen and they are now working on the trickier, non-standard bits like the fancy corner cupboard.
The main staircase is now in, as are the new garage doors (yet another dilemma - what colour are we going to paint them?).
And, last but not least, most of the galvanised balustrade has been installed on the roof terrace.
Our focus is now to get the upstairs finished to the level that we can stay there while we get the downstairs completed. We only (?) need to get the second fix electrics and plumbing finished, the kitchen finished, the stove installed and a few sticks of furniture!
